A 34-year-old man was injured at Yellowstone National Park after being gored by a bison over the weekend, according to park officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident happened near the park\u2019s West Entrance in Wyoming. Officials say the man was among a group of visitors who approached the bison on foot, getting too close to the wild animal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bison responded aggressively, lifting the man with its horns and causing serious injuries. He was airlifted to a hospital in Idaho for treatment. No updates on his current condition have been released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Park rangers are reminding the public to keep a safe distance from wildlife \u2014 at least 25 yards from bison, elk, and similar animals, and 100 yards from bears and wolves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This marks the first bison-related injury of the year at Yellowstone, though such encounters are not uncommon. Bison are unpredictable and can run three times faster than humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
