A fireworks storage facility in Northern California erupted in a massive explosion Tuesday evening, sparking a dangerous blaze and prompting nearby evacuations. The incident occurred near the rural towns of Madison and Esparto in Yolo County, about 30 miles west of Sacramento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Emergency crews were dispatched shortly before 6 p.m. after reports of explosions and fire coming from a commercial property. When firefighters arrived, they found several structures ablaze and fireworks continuously detonating inside the warehouse. The force of the blasts shook nearby homes and sent plumes of smoke and fire into the air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The blaze spread rapidly, burning through vegetation and structures across approximately 80 acres before fire crews contained it later that night. The area surrounding the facility was placed under a temporary evacuation order, and residents within a one-mile radius were told to leave as a precaution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the intense scene, officials confirmed that no injuries were reported. Firefighters from multiple agencies, including Cal Fire and local departments, responded to the emergency. Aircraft support and drones were also used to assess damage and monitor the fire\u2019s spread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities say the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
