A cluster of cows near the Col des Saisies tested positive for a contagious skin condition, prompting health authorities to restrict access to the area and mandate the removal of the herd. In response, race organizers adjusted the route, cutting the original 129.9-kilometer course down to about 95 kilometers.

The modified stage began later than scheduled and bypassed two planned climbs, including the Col des Saisies. Despite the changes, the route still concluded in La Plagne and remained the final mountain stage of the race. Tadej Pogačar, who holds a significant lead over Jonas Vingegaard, remained in control, while breakaway efforts from riders like Primož Roglič and Lenny Martinez kept the pace aggressive on the altered course. The race is set to wrap up in Paris on Sunday.

The 19th stage of the Tour de France was unexpectedly shortened due to a livestock disease outbreak in the region.

[19

post-2617","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports
["https://theamshift.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/tourdefrance.jpg",1024,682,false
https://theamshift.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/tourdefrance.jpg",1024,682,false
https://theamshift.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/tourdefrance.jpg",1024,682,false
https://theamshift.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/tourdefrance-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://theamshift.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/tourdefrance-300x200.jpg",300,200,true
https://theamshift.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/tourdefrance.jpg",640,426,false],"1536x1536":["https://theamshift.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/tourdefrance.jpg",1024,682,false],"2048x2048":["https://theamshift.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/tourdefrance.jpg",1024,682,false
https://theamshift.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/tourdefrance-1020x682.jpg",1020,682,true
https://theamshift.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/tourdefrance-600x400.jpg",600,400,true
https://theamshift.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/tourdefrance-300x200.jpg",300,200,true
https://theamshift.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/tourdefrance-150x95.jpg",150,95,true
https://theamshift.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/tourdefrance-400x250.jpg",400,250,true
The 19th stage of the Tour de France was unexpectedly shortened due to a livestock disease outbreak in the region.
["GET
