Tensions briefly flared at Tennessee Titans training camp when rookie quarterback Cam Ward and star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons got into a shoving match during practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The dust-up happened after Ward connected with Calvin Ridley for a touchdown late in the session. Ward celebrated and made his way toward Simmons, giving him a push before breaking into his trademark \u201cZombieland\u201d move. Simmons reacted quickly, shoving Ward in the facemask, which brought several teammates rushing in to pull the two apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Head coach Brian Callahan ended practice immediately afterward, ordering players into extra conditioning drills on a hot, 96-degree afternoon. Simmons removed his helmet and left the field, while Ward stayed on and continued the workout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teammates downplayed the scuffle, calling it the product of competitive energy in camp. Offensive lineman Dan Moore Jr. emphasized that quarterbacks are off-limits for contact, while cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. noted the moment highlighted Ward\u2019s toughness, saying it showed \u201che\u2019s not afraid to stand his ground.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
