According to the FAA, air traffic control had instructed Flight 5155 to hold and yield to the incoming aircraft, but preliminary data suggests a miscommunication or timing error may have led to the collision. The wing of the departing aircraft made contact with the nose and cockpit area of the arriving jet, damaging the windshield and cockpit structure. A flight attendant on board one of the jets was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, though no passengers were hurt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
