The Indiana Pacers announced Monday that All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton will miss the entire 2025–26 NBA season after suffering a torn right Achilles tendon. The injury occurred during the opening minutes of Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Haliburton underwent successful surgery in New York, and team officials confirmed that he will spend the year rehabbing with no plans to return before the 2026–27 campaign.
Haliburton, 25, was a key figure in Indiana’s playoff surge, averaging 18.6 points, 9.2 assists, and 1.4 steals per game during the regular season which he played 73 games. His absence, combined with the recent departure of longtime center Myles Turner to Milwaukee, signals a tough stretch ahead for the Pacers. With two major contributors gone, the team is expected to rely more heavily on Pascal Siakam, Bennedict Mathurin, and other young talents as they reshape their lineup and look to stay competitive in the Eastern Conference.
