With two runners on and the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, Bailey drove a ball deep off the right-field wall at Oracle Park. A sharp bounce off the bricks sent the ball rolling into center field, giving Bailey just enough time to sprint all the way around the bases as the Phillies struggled to recover defensively.
The dramatic moment not only gave the Giants their ninth walk-off win of the season but also made Bailey the first catcher in MLB history to hit an inside-the-park walk-off home run. It was the first of its kind in the league since 2016 and capped a much-needed comeback for a Giants team gaining ground in the playoff race.
