Packers Reveal Record $432.6M Per-Team NFL Revenue Sharing in Latest Financial Report

The Green Bay Packers revealed Thursday that each NFL team received a record $432.6 million in national revenue sharing for the 2023–24 fiscal year, up significantly from $402.3 million the previous year. As the league’s only publicly owned franchise, the Packers offer rare transparency into the NFL’s financial landscape, highlighting the massive growth driven largely by booming media rights deals.

Team President Mark Murphy, who is set to retire in the coming weeks, noted that revenue sharing has more than tripled over the past two decades—from $138 million per team in 2006 to today’s record figures. He credited the surge to the league’s expanded television contracts and the rise of streaming platforms, which have become key drivers of revenue in recent years.

The Packers also reported a strong boost in local revenue, thanks in part to an extra regular-season home game. That increase helped push the team’s total revenue past $610 million and operating profit to nearly $84 million, up from around $60 million the previous year. The team’s reserve fund now stands at roughly $579 million.

Overall, the report underscores how the NFL’s financial engine—fueled by its national appeal and strategic media partnerships—continues to grow at a remarkable pace, positioning the league for even greater earnings in the years ahead.
