Caitlin Clark Shows Progress in Injury Recovery but Remains Out for Fever

Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White says All-Star guard Caitlin Clark is steadily recovering from the right groin injury she suffered on July 15 but has not yet resumed full practice with the team. While she has started running the length of the court and increasing her activity, the team is taking a cautious approach to ensure her long-term health, avoiding any rush back to game action.

Clark’s absence has now stretched to 11 consecutive games, and the Fever have yet to provide a target date for her return. White emphasized that the priority is making sure Clark is fully ready before she re-enters competition, especially given her importance to the team’s future. In the meantime, the Fever continue to adjust their rotation and offensive schemes to account for the loss of their star guard, focusing on maintaining competitiveness in a challenging stretch of the season.

The Fever without Clark in the rotation have been able to maintain a 18-14 record. This puts the Fever in 5th in the standings, giving them a chance to still lock up home court advantage during the playoffs. With Clark recovering, the Fever hope she can get back to the court in time to move up the standings and secure home court advantage.
