Three Ejected After First-Half Scuffle in Sun’s Win Over Sky

The Connecticut Sun ended a five-game losing streak Wednesday with a 71–62 win over the Chicago Sky, but the game was marked by a heated altercation in the second quarter. With 6:35 left in the half, Sun guard Bria Hartley and Sky forward Rebecca Allen got tangled while battling for a rebound. Hartley shoved Allen to the floor, and Allen responded by grabbing Hartley’s jersey.

The skirmish escalated when Sky guard Ariel Atkins ran in and pushed Hartley, also making contact with an official. After a video review, Hartley and Allen were ejected for fighting, while Atkins was tossed for escalating the situation.

Sky coach Tyler Marsh said the conflict was fueled by earlier uncalled contact, including what he described as an elbow from Hartley to Allen’s face. “The missed calls led to frustration that boiled over,” Marsh said after the game.
