49ers Place George Kittle on IR, Waive Kicker Jake Moody

The San Francisco 49ers have placed star tight end George Kittle on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury sustained during the season opener against the Seattle Seahawks. Per league rules, he is expected to miss at least four games, with the earliest possible return targeted for Week 6 in Tampa Bay on October 12. During the opener, Kittle recorded four catches for 25 yards, including a touchdown, before exiting the game.

At the same time, the team has waived kicker Jake Moody following a rocky start to the season. Moody missed two field goals in the opener—including a blocked 36-yard attempt—and struggled throughout his tenure with the team, leaving the 49ers in search of a more reliable long-term option.
