The Green Bay Packers improved to 2–0 this season by defeating the Washington Commanders 27–18 at Lambeau Field, following a strong start against the Detroit Lions. With both opponents having won 12 or more games last year, Green Bay became just the fifth team since 1966 to win its first two games against such competition.
Packers’ QB Jordan Love threw for 292 yards, including a career-high first-half passing total, and consistently connected downfield despite a few missed deep shots. Defensive end Micah Parsons stood out despite facing double and triple teams, recording multiple quarterback hits and contributing to pressure that kept the Commanders off balance.
Tight end Tucker Kraft posted a breakout performance with 124 receiving yards and a touchdown—his first 100-yard game. Running back Josh Jacobs continued his red-zone dominance, scoring once again on a short rushing touchdown to extend his streak of games with a rushing TD.
For Washington, quarterback Jayden Daniels was under constant pressure—sacked four times—and limited in his rushing (17 yards), though he threw for 200 yards. The team also suffered several injuries, including to Austin Ekeler (Achilles), receiver Noah Brown, tight end John Bates, and defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr.
