Florida associate head coach and running backs coach Jabbar Juluke has been handed a three-game suspension for his role in a heated pre-game confrontation before the Gators’ matchup with LSU. The SEC, alongside the university, announced the penalty Tuesday, with Commissioner Greg Sankey stressing that coaches are expected to prevent conflict, not escalate it, and that Juluke’s actions failed to meet those standards.
The suspension means Juluke will be sidelined during a tough stretch of Florida’s schedule, including road and home showdowns with top-10 opponents Miami, Texas, and Texas A&M. Following the announcement, Juluke issued an apology, saying he regretted his behavior, accepted full responsibility, and intended to learn from the experience moving forward.
Footage from warmups at Tiger Stadium showed multiple scuffles between the two teams, though the SEC statement did not provide details on Juluke’s exact involvement. No penalties were assessed during the game itself, which LSU went on to win 20-10, leaving Florida at 1-2 on the season.
Juluke, who joined the Florida staff in 2022 and has long worked with head coach Billy Napier, previously coached at LSU earlier in his career. Florida’s athletic department voiced support for Juluke while also acknowledging the seriousness of the discipline, saying they expect him to grow from the situation and uphold higher standards in the future.
