Prosecutors Seek Over 11-Year Sentence for Sean “Diddy” Combs Ahead of October 3 Ruling

Federal prosecutors are asking a New York judge to impose a prison sentence exceeding 11 years (135 months) and a $500,000 fine on Sean “Diddy” Combs. The request follows his conviction earlier this year on two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution in connection with organizing “freak-off” sessions involving male escorts and two former girlfriends.

In July 2025, a Manhattan jury delivered a mixed verdict: Combs was found not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges (which could have carried life sentences) but guilty on the two transportation-for-prostitution counts under the Mann Act. His defense argues he did not coerce anyone, characterizing his actions as amateur pornography rather than pimping, and has proposed a sentence of just 14 months—citing time already served.

Prosecutors have pushed back strongly, portraying Combs as “unrepentant” and pointing to witness testimony—including from ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura—about abuse, coercion, and long-term trauma. Meanwhile, Combs’ legal team and supporters (including his mother) have submitted letters to the court emphasizing his past hardships, efforts at rehabilitation, and time already spent in detention.

Sentencing is set for October 3, 2025, and the judge will ultimately decide whether to adopt the prosecutors’ aggressive recommendation or accept a more lenient approach.
