Buccaneers’ Mike Evans Leaves Game with Concussion and Shoulder Injury

During Monday night’s loss to the Detroit Lions, the veteran wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers exited the game after suffering a serious injury. According to reports, Evans was carted off the field in the second quarter after his head and shoulder collided with the turf while attempting a deep catch from quarterback Baker Mayfield. He was diagnosed with both a concussion and a shoulder injury.

After further evaluation, the injury was upgraded to a broken collarbone, with head coach Todd Bowles indicating that Evans will miss a significant portion of the season. The absence comes at a difficult time as Evans had just returned from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for three games. His streak of 11 consecutive seasons with 1,000+ receiving yards — tied with NFL legend Jerry Rice — now faces serious jeopardy.
