After Denver scored first in OT on a rushing touchdown by RJ Harvey, Washington responded with a touchdown pass from Marcus Mariota to Terry McLaurin — setting up a high-stakes 2-point conversion attempt.
On the conversion try, Bonitto leaped and batted down Mariota’s pass, denying the Commanders the win. That single defensive play sealed Denver’s ninth straight victory and underscored the Broncos’ ability to win tight games in 2025.
Broncos quarterback Bo Nix passed for 321 yards, including a touchdown, and helped set up the OT-winning drive — while the organization again proved its resilience in one-score games. Meanwhile, the loss extended Washington’s tough season, as inconsistent offense and defensive breakdowns continue to plague the Commanders.
