Former President Donald Trump has issued a public warning to Elon Musk, suggesting there would be consequences if the billionaire entrepreneur chooses to back Democratic candidates in the 2024 election.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump responded to reports that Musk might contribute substantial funds to a political group aiming to stop Trump’s return to the White House. Trump claimed Musk assured him privately that he wouldn’t support Democrats, and accused him of seeking personal gain through his business ventures.
Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has not yet confirmed any donation plans but has publicly expressed concerns about both major political parties. According to a report by The New York Times, he is considering helping fund a political action committee targeting Trump’s reelection bid.
Trump criticized Musk’s potential involvement, warning that support for Democrats could harm Musk’s business interests in the long run. He also accused the tech mogul of leveraging U.S. government subsidies while turning against the political leaders who helped him.
The tension highlights the growing friction between Trump and influential figures in the tech world as the 2024 election cycle intensifies.
