Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton was noticeably limited during Game 5 of the NBA Finals due to a lingering left calf injury, playing only 34 minutes in the team’s 120-109 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Haliburton, who has been dealing with soreness throughout the series, managed just 4 points and struggled to make his usual impact, particularly in the second half when he very limited in his play. His absence was felt as the Pacers’ offense faltered late in the game.
Haliburton is dead set on playing through this injury as he stated, “if I can walk, then I want to play”.
Head coach Rick Carlisle acknowledged the All-Star guard was not at full strength, stating that the team will evaluate his condition ahead of Game 6. Haliburton’s health remains a major concern as Indiana faces elimination on its home court.
With the Thunder now holding a 3-2 series lead, the Pacers will need a fully healthy Haliburton if they hope to force a Game 7 and keep their title hopes alive.
