The PGA Tour has announced that Commissioner Jay Monahan will step down in early 2026, ending a significant chapter in the Tour’s history. His successor will be Brian Rolapp, who currently serves as the CEO of PGA Tour Enterprises.
Monahan, who took over as commissioner in 2017, led the Tour through a period of major transformation, including the pandemic disruptions, the launch of PGA Tour Enterprises, and ongoing efforts to manage the growing influence of LIV Golf. He will continue to serve in his role through the end of the 2025 season and help facilitate a smooth transition.
Rolapp, a longtime sports executive, previously worked with the NFL where he was the CEO and president of NFL Network. His skills in media give a great addition to the PGA, allowing it to grow to a larger audience.
The PGA Tour Policy Board, which includes top players like Tiger Woods, unanimously supported the leadership transition. Monahan said he’s confident in Rolapp’s vision and leadership, calling him “a tremendous steward for the game.”
With this change, the Tour hopes to continue evolving in a competitive golf landscape while staying true to its legacy and player-driven mission.
