Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was cited earlier this month for driving 101 mph in a 60mph zone, according to an incident report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The traffic stop occurred on June 12 in Avon, Ohio, about 20 miles west of Cleveland. Authorities say Sanders was pulled over while driving a Dodge Ram TRX. He was issued a speeding ticket but not taken into custody.
Sanders, the son of NFL Hall of Famer and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, was selected by the Browns in the 2025 NFL Draft. He is currently preparing for his rookie season and is expected to compete for a backup role on the team.
Neither the Browns nor Sanders have publicly commented on the citation. The incident adds attention to Sanders’ early days in the league, though it remains a traffic violation with no criminal charges filed.
