Alabama has landed one of the top offensive prospects in the country, as standout running back Ezavier “EJ” Crowell announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Thursday. Crowell, a powerful 5-foot-11, 210-pound back from Jackson High School in Alabama, is ranked No. 3 among running backs and No. 31 overall in ESPN’s 2026 recruiting rankings. He chose Alabama over other top programs including Georgia, Auburn, Florida State, and Texas.
Crowell had previously been part of the 2027 recruiting cycle but reclassified to 2026, accelerating his path to the college level. Over the past two seasons, he has dominated on the field, rushing for more than 1,700 yards and scoring over 25 touchdowns each year. His commitment gives new head coach Kalen DeBoer a significant addition to the backfield and adds to a strong June for Alabama recruiting, which now includes six ESPN 300 prospects in the 2026 class. Crowell is the highest-rated commit in the class so far, giving the Tide strong early momentum.
