New York Yankees star Aaron Judge will return to the lineup Tuesday against the Texas Rangers after missing over a week with a right elbow flexor strain. Manager Aaron Boone confirmed the move, noting Judge will be activated from the injured list and serve as the designated hitter while continuing his throwing progression.
Judge had been sidelined since July 25 but avoided structural damage to his elbow, allowing for a quicker-than-expected recovery. He recently resumed batting activities and completed workouts at the team’s facility in Tampa before traveling to Texas.
Prior to the injury, Judge was having a standout season, leading MLB with a .342 batting average and 37 home runs. His return comes at a critical time, as the Yankees look to regain momentum after a rough 10-game stretch without their captain.
