Former Texas WR Isaiah Bond Cleared of Charges, Eyes NFL Return with Browns

Former University of Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond is no longer facing legal trouble after a Collin County, Texas grand jury decided not to indict him on a sexual assault allegation. Bond’s agent, Damien Butler, confirmed Thursday that prosecutors have dropped the case, bringing an end to a legal process that began earlier this year. Bond had been arrested in April on an outstanding warrant, released on $25,000 bond, and had consistently denied any wrongdoing, calling the accusation “patently false.”

The dismissal removes a major obstacle from the 21-year-old’s football career, which was put on hold during the investigation. A former Alabama standout before transferring to Texas, Bond entered the NFL’s radar as a speedy deep threat and special teams contributor. With the case now closed, he told reporters he plans to sign with the Cleveland Browns, though the team has not yet announced an official deal.

Bond’s situation underscores how off-field allegations can quickly derail a player’s path to the league, even before a case reaches trial. While he spent recent months training privately, the uncertainty surrounding his future meant staying away from organized team activities. Now, with legal clearance and his name officially cleared, Bond is positioned to rejoin the competitive push for a roster spot ahead of the NFL regular season.
