Lil Nas X Faces Four Felony Counts After Chaotic Los Angeles Incident

Grammy-winning rapper Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, has been charged with four felonies following a bizarre confrontation with police in Los Angeles. Prosecutors say the 25-year-old artist faces three counts of battery on a peace officer and one count of resisting an executive officer after being found behaving erratically on Ventura Boulevard last week.

According to officials, officers approached Hill after reports of a man wandering the street wearing only underwear and cowboy boots. Authorities allege that when confronted, he became aggressive—striking multiple officers and rushing at them, causing injuries before he was subdued. Video from the scene showed the rapper dancing in the street, nearly unclothed, and even placing a traffic cone on his head.

Hill was first transported to a hospital for a possible overdose before being taken into custody. At his arraignment Monday, he entered a not-guilty plea and appeared in a blue jail uniform. The judge set his bail at $75,000, with the added requirement that he participate in an outpatient drug rehabilitation program as a condition of release.

His attorney, Christine O’Connor, insisted there is no evidence he was under the influence, framing the episode as an isolated incident. Meanwhile, Hill’s father, Robert Stafford, told reporters that his son is deeply regretful and committed to seeking help. “He is very remorseful, and he’s taking steps to get better,” Stafford said, asking the public to keep his son in their thoughts.

The case marks a stunning turn for the performer, who rose to fame with his record-breaking single “Old Town Road” and has been known for pushing boundaries in music and culture. Now, as his legal battle unfolds, Hill faces serious charges that could carry significant consequences if convicted.
