Ohio State Holds No. 1 as Georgia Climbs and Texas Falls in Latest CFP Rankings

The latest CFP top-25 list released Tuesday night holds steady at the top with Ohio State Buckeyes (10-0) at No. 1, Indiana Hoosiers (11-0) at No. 2, and Texas A&M Aggies (10-0) at No. 3. Rising into the No. 4 spot is the Georgia Bulldogs (9-1), after a key win over Texas and the stumble of another major program.

Notable movement further down sees Texas Longhorns falling to No. 17 after a 35-10 loss to Georgia, harming their at-large playoff hopes. Meanwhile, the SEC leads the pack with nine teams in the top-25, the Big Ten has six, the Big 12 five, and only three ACC teams are ranked following a recent loss by the conference’s top contender.

For the playoff bracket projection, the top four teams—Ohio State, Indiana, Texas A&M and Georgia—would receive first-round byes under the current structure, with matchups lined up such as No. 12 Tulane Green Wave at No. 5 Texas Tech Red Raiders and No. 10 Alabama Crimson Tide at No. 7 Oregon Ducks.
